In July, 2012, after lots of hard work by many dedicated Sandwich citizens, the Massachusetts Cultural Council designated our own Glass Town Cultural District, a walkable, densely packed area in the heart of Beautiful Sandwich! The Selectmen then appointed the Steering committee to oversee the development of the District as well as to administer the Adams Grant.
MISSION: What we want to achieve:
- To create a sustainable economic base through organization and promotion of the Glass Town Cultural District’s unique cultural assets for residents and year round visitors.
VISION: What we want to become:
- The Glass Town Cultural District is an incubator for arts, history and culture and serves as a driver for Economic Development within the District.
VALUES: How we function/behave as an organization:
- Create a legacy to sustain a viable Cultural District organization in the town of Sandwich
- Support and grow cultural opportunities within the District
The Glass town Cultural district Steering Committee is concluding our long range planning by reaching out to the Artistic and Business Community so that we may all move forward and make The Glass Town Cultural District the dynamic artistic and economic powerhouse we know it can be!!
